Mission Endowment Fund: This ministry is committed to the faithful and efficient management of all financial gifts and bequests. The interest which accrues from these investments provides our means of furthering God's work through the church. It provides assistance for many purposes, but the primary aim is to assist in the continuing pursuit of Christian education. Click here for a pdf file explaining our mission.
Mutual Ministry Committee: This committee's mission is to affirm and strengthen the mission of the congregation and ministry of the staff. Our goal is to become an important link between members of our congregation, our church council, our Pastor, and all of the staff serving Mount Cross Lutheran Church.
Outreach Ministry: This group assists with the many fund raisers throughout the Church year. Funds raised help with the Payson food bank, the ELCA Navajo Mission at Rock Point, Veteran's Helping Veterans, and various other agencies in Payson.
Prayer Chain: This ministry is comprised of members of our congregation who faithfully pray for the requests that are received by our church office. New people are always welcome to join as Prayer Partners.
Prayer Shawl Committee: This ministry is comprised of members of our congregation who knit or crochet prayer shawls for those of our members and friends of members who have had illness, who are grieving and for our service men and women. Prayers are offered for the recipients as committee members are knitting or crocheting the shawls.
Spiritual Growth Committee: It is our Pastor's desire that our church family grow in faith and discipleship. We have an exciting ministry at Mount Cross Lutheran Church. Evangelism is ready to take quantum leaps forward, and we will be taking definitive steps to approach families who need a church home.
Stewardship Committee: Graceful Living-Graceful Giving goes beyond budgets and building needs. It is a values-based decision with regard to one's faith and one's personal relationship with God, the Father, Jesus Christ, our personal savior and the Holy Spirit, our spiritual Counselor.
WELCA: The Women of the ELCA provide programs to involve women in the congregation. All women of Mount Cross are automatically a part of WELCA. We try to provide one social event per quarter. Our primary outreach is quilting. We send delegates to the annual Synod WELCA conventions and we send donated goods to this convention to complete kits to give to women who are recent refugees from war-torn areas.
